Embracing YANATIN: Elevating Human Connections Through Every Chakra

In the rich tapestry of human experience, connection is the thread that weaves us all together. Our interactions, whether fleeting or profound, shape the fabric of our lives. One concept that beautifully encapsulates the essence of our connections is YANATIN, an ancient Andean concept that speaks of complementarity between opposites, the coming together of polarities. To reach this state, a romantic and sensual connection is essential, akin to the merging of the sun and moon.

In the realm of our chakras, these energetic centers within us, lies a profound reflection of this YANATIN principle. Each chakra represents a unique facet of our being and offers a lens through which we can understand and elevate our human connections.

  1. Root Chakra - Survival and Well-Being: At our foundation lies the need for survival and a healthy biology. This primal urge forms the base of our connections, urging us to ensure our and our loved ones' well-being.

  2. Sacral Chakra - Sensuality and Feelings: The sacral chakra embodies sensuality, the electric charge of life, and the dance of emotions. It's where the magnetic pull of attraction often initiates our connections.

  3. Plexus Chakra - Giving Pleasure: Moving up, the plexus chakra emphasizes the act of being there for another, providing pleasure and support. It symbolizes the giving aspect of our connections.

  4. Heart Chakra - Love and Value the Connection: The heart chakra is the epicenter of Munay (Love), nurturing, and valuing connections. It sparks desire and empowerment, binding us to one another.

  5. Throat Chakra - Self Expression: The throat chakra echoes the need and desire to express ourselves, a vital purpose driving us to create meaningful experiences in our connections.

  6. Third Eye Chakra - Visions of Mutual Creation: The third eye chakra embodies the visions of a mutual creation, illustrating that the union with another serves a purpose, a shared vision.

  7. Crown Chakra - Connection with the Divine Source: Finally, the crown chakra is the pinnacle, representing our connection with the source, the universal oneness. It signifies merging with another at a human level, akin to merging with the Divine. I am another you, and you are another me.

Imagine a society where this wisdom is instilled from an early age. An education that teaches us to honor the wisdom of every chakra within ourselves and others, embracing our diverse experiences of connection. However, in reality, our journey towards understanding the depths of connection is nuanced and complex.

In my personal journey, I've come to realize that the answer isn't black and white; it's a delicate balance. It's harmony. Our understanding of connection is deeply rooted in societal programming, often laden with guilt and shame. It takes a conscious effort to reprogram these beliefs, allowing us to fulfill our need for connection authentically.

Navigating the Spectrum of Connection

In the realm of human relationships, two prominent models stand out: monogamy and polyamory. Each offers a distinct perspective on intimacy, love, and human connection.

Monogamy: The Dance of Two

Monogamy, often deemed the traditional path, involves an exclusive romantic and sexual relationship between two individuals. It is a commitment deeply ingrained in our societal structures, often linked to ideas of loyalty, dedication, and a lifelong bond. For many, monogamy represents a singular, profound connection where emotional and physical intimacy intertwine exclusively.

In this model, individuals prioritize a one-to-one relationship, nurturing a deep understanding of their partner's needs, desires, and ambitions. The focus is on creating a secure, loving space for growth and mutual fulfillment. However, it requires strong communication, trust, and an ongoing effort to keep the connection vibrant.

But there are other options.

Polyamory: Embracing Plurality

On the other end of the spectrum lies polyamory, a path that challenges the convention of exclusivity by allowing individuals to form multiple romantic and emotional connections simultaneously. Polyamory acknowledges that love, connection, and intimacy can flourish in various forms and with diverse partners.

In a polyamorous dynamic, communication and consent are paramount. Individuals openly navigate and negotiate their relationships, ensuring the well-being and happiness of everyone involved. This path requires a high level of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a willingness to break free from traditional relationship norms.

Did you know I've been in an open relationship for a while?

It's a facet of my journey that has added layers of understanding to the complex tapestry of human connections. Open relationships, a branch of the polyamory spectrum, have taught me that love isn't confined to one person or one experience. It challenges the traditional narratives surrounding love and partnership. In embracing polyamory, I'm open to the beauty of multiple connections, each unique and valuable in its own right. It's showing me an expansive path that encourages communication, trust, and radical honesty.

The question arises—Is an open relationship something worth exploring?

For me, it's been a pathway of growth, an invitation to transcend insecurity, possessiveness and jealousy, and an opportunity to learn to love with an open heart. It's not a path for everyone, but for those willing to embark, it can be a journey of profound self-discovery and transformative love. Love, after all, knows no bounds. Is your heart open to explore such boundless love? I don't know yet if polyamory is the ultimate path for me. To be candid, it hasn't been easy to navigate the complex emotions that often accompany this journey. Yet, there's a curiosity in my heart, an innate desire to see where this path leads me on my own soul's journey. It's a walk on the edge of the unknown, and I embrace it with open arms.

Amidst the vast expanse of possible diverse connections, I must confess that I still yearn for a close companion, a Yanantin. Someone who resonates with the aspects of my life closely tied to my purpose—the medicine path expressed by music, cacao, and ancestral wisdom. These are not mere pastimes; they are the essence of my existence, my prayer to inspire healing and harmony within the human heart.

The truth is, I don't have all the answers, but I'm open to receive them as I continue to walk on my path. And one thing I know for sure is that I've chosen a path of self-love and self-discovery above all. I've chosen to place my well-being at the center of any relationship equation. As I journey through the enigmatic terrain of polyamory, I do so with an unwavering commitment to my own growth, happiness, and inner harmony. The rest, I trust, will fall into place as it should.

Finding Harmony: The Yanatin Perspective

While these two models seem to exist at opposite ends, the Yanatin perspective encourages a nuanced approach. Yanatin emphasizes harmony in duality, recognizing the polarity of monogamy and polyamory. It suggests that individuals can explore a balance that aligns with their truest selves, seeking connections that resonate with their essence.

Some may find fulfillment in a monogamous relationship, cherishing the depth that comes with exclusivity. Others may discover a harmonious balance between the depth of one-on-one connection and the expansive love that polyamory offers.

Ultimately, the key is to embark on a journey of self-discovery, understanding what resonates with one's heart and soul. Relationships, whether monogamous, polyamorous, or a unique blend, should be a reflection of our authentic selves, an expression of love in its truest form.

Whether it's through monogamous or polyamorous perspectives, the essence remains the same: we are spiritual beings, already interconnected at a profound level. Our human experience is an opportunity to remember how to share the pleasures of life in love and integrity.

Emotional Intelligence and Clear Communication: Pillars of Elevated Connection

Here's what I found to be a valuable the key to navigate this human experience. In the realm of human interaction, emotional intelligence and clear communication stand as foundational pillars, guiding us toward deeper and more meaningful connections. Emotional intelligence, often regarded as the art of understanding and managing our own emotions while empathetically perceiving others', allows us to navigate relationships with grace and compassion. It is the ability to recognize, comprehend, and appropriately respond to emotions—our own and those of others. When combined with clear and honest communication, which entails expressing thoughts, desires, and boundaries openly and respectfully, it forms a potent catalyst for profound connections.

Clear communication is akin to weaving a bridge between hearts, fostering trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Together, these essential qualities empower us to transcend superficial interactions and forge connections that resonate at a soulful level. They enable us to co-create an elevated way of connecting—one steeped in authenticity, empathy, and the boundless capacity to truly understand and uplift one another.

One critical revelation in my journey is that the most important relationship we should prioritize is the one with ourselves. When we are fulfilled from within, we can authentically show up for others with a full cup.

Let's acknowledge that all our connections, including the romantic and sensual ones, are based on conditions, needs, and desires. There's a beauty in being transparent about these intentions, ensuring genuine and caring connections.

In the grand tapestry of the universe, everything desires to connect, to create new expressions, to merge and separate—an eternal sacred rhythm, like breathing.

As we navigate our relationships, let's ask ourselves profound questions:

What does it mean to express oneself in a relationship?

What do we truly seek from it?

And at last,

Why do we want to create and attract our Yanantin?

I invite you all to share your viewpoints, to engage in this conversation. Together, let's explore the intricacies of human connections, and through understanding, let's elevate our consciousness and create a world where love and connection thrive.

All my relations,

Soniko
